GAUL. Massalia. Circa 525-500 BC. Trihemiobol (Silver, 11 mm, 1.33 g), Phokaic standard. Head of a roaring lion to left. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. Furtwängler, Auriol -, cf. Ba1 (Diobol). Maurel 8 (same obverse die). Of the highest rarity, a lovely coin from Massalia's first coin emission. Somewhat granular, otherwise, very fine.
